Having these little treats around is dangerous! They are so easy to pop in your mouth! If this helps to reduce the amount of store bought chocolate bars or treats your household is consuming, great! I first found these ready made at Whole Foods and decided to try and make them at home. I've played with the recipe adding various options but I always come back to this one.

1 ½ cups walnuts

14 dates (my favourite are medjool)

Place walnuts and dates in food processor and blend till coarsely chopped.

Add remaining items.

1/2 - 3/4  cup cacao powder (start with 1/2 add more if desired)

1 tsp cinnamon

2 tbsp coconut oil

2 tbsp hemp hearts

Scrapings from one vanilla bean pod or ½ tsp vanilla extract

Pinch of sea salt

Blend till well mixed, approximately 2 to 3 minutes. Mixture should be soft but sticky. Scoop by a spoon full into your hand and form into a ball. I coat mine in unsweetened shredded coconut. You can also coat them in cacao powder or finely chopped nuts. Place in fridge to harden and enjoy! Double the recipe and once hard put the extras that don't get eaten (like that will happen) into the freezer.
